Welcome to the Health Care Financing & Economics (HCFE) Website, a resource for researchers, those working within the Department of Veterans Affairs, policy makers and the general public.

Over the past five years HCFE Researchers have:

• Studied VA healthcare costs, especially for patients with diabetes, schizophrenia or in nursing homes.
• Conducted evaluations for Congress on VA long-term care and military sexual trauma.
• Conducted simulations of the impacts of the Medicare Modernization Act on Medicare beneficiaries’ enrollment choices for health care plans and prescription drug coverage.
• Published articles in Health Affairs, Medical Care, Archives of Neurology, Health Care Financing Review and International Journal of Healthcare Financing and Economics.
